Mold Testing in Central & Southern West Virginia
Mold Testing
**Don't hire a mold remediation company to test for mold.** If the company testing your home is the same company that gets paid to clean it up, you are not getting an unbiased answer. SureQuest doesn't do remediation. We test, we report what's actually there, and that's the end of our financial interest in the result.
How our mold testing works
- We collect air and/or surface samples from the areas of concern.
- Samples go to an independent professional lab.
- Results come back in 3–5 days.
- We also measure relative humidity, dew point and wet bulb temperature, then give you the indoor conditions to maintain so mold doesn't come back.

When you should test
- You can smell must or mildew but can't find the source
- Visible growth on drywall, trim, or in a crawl space or basement
- Past water intrusion, a roof leak, or a plumbing failure
- Someone in the house has unexplained respiratory symptoms or allergies
- You're buying a home with a history of flooding or a damp basement
Why West Virginia homes get mold
Kanawha Valley humidity, river-adjacent lots, older block foundations and vented crawl spaces are a reliable recipe. Most of what we find is a moisture problem first and a mold problem second — which is why we give you the humidity numbers, not just a lab result.
Pricing
Cost depends on the square footage of the area being tested. You get an estimate and approve it before any testing happens. Mold testing can be added to any inspection package or booked on its own.
